Clients Are Loving this New Take on Content Creation
If you spend a good chunk of time online (which I’m guessing you do?), you might think that the best way to build a booming business is to crack the algorithm, create viral reels, and crank out a ton of content to satisfy your audience.
Listen, that’s one way to do it. And for some of you, it might be the right way! But that’s only the strategy to take if it works in concert with your natural energy and talents.
So, how do you know where to start? My Thrive Experience clients and I have been experimenting with creating content according to our Human Design types, and I have been blown away by the relief and validation people are finding in this approach.
If you’re new to Human Design, you can get your chart at MyHumanDesign.com. (It’s free.) This can be a total rabbit hole, but for our purposes, you only need to know your core type: Generator, Manifestor, Manifesting Generator, Projector, or Reflector.
Once you know your type, check out the guidance below to see how you can work with your natural tendencies.
1. Manifestors: Bold, Direct, and Inspirational
Strategy: Inform before acting.
How you create content: Manifestors are great at starting movements and creating buzz. You’re the initiators—the ones who can spark energy and get things moving! You need to inform others about what you're doing before taking action. This helps reduce resistance and allows your energy to flow more smoothly. You have a knack for creating content that is bold and provocative, designed to get people excited about your next move.
Content Ideas:
Pre-launch announcements for new projects
Bold video messages or posts to inspire action
“This is happening, here’s why, and here’s what you can expect...”
2. Generators: Magnetic, Focused, and Engaged
Strategy: Wait to respond.
How you create content: Generators build momentum through what feels easy and authentic. You work best when you create content that excites you! Wait for inspiration to strike—respond to what’s already alive in your business or community. When you’re truly inspired, your content will naturally resonate with your audience.
Content Ideas:
Posts or videos based on audience questions or feedback
Content inspired by a new blog or podcast you’ve encountered
Create content from genuine excitement, even if it’s spontaneous!
3. Manifesting Generators: Fast-Paced, Multi-Passionate Creators
Strategy: Respond, then inform.
How you create content: Manifesting Generators thrive by experimenting with different types of content that show your variety. You’re a hybrid of Manifestors and Generators—meaning you respond to opportunities and then act quickly. You thrive on variety and often have multiple projects on the go. Your content is best when it’s spontaneous and shows the energy and excitement of your diverse ideas.
Content Ideas:
Behind-the-scenes content showing your process
Dynamic posts that jump between your many interests
Videos that showcase how you pivot quickly and bring new ideas to life
This is me! I’ve found the key is to keep a running idea file where I can capture alllll the ideas I have in response to the conversations I’m having, the books I’m reading, and the podcasts I’m listening to. Then, when it’s time to create something to share with you, I just pick what feels most compelling in the moment.
4. Projectors: Wise, Insightful, and Invitation-Based
Strategy: Wait for the invitation.
How you create content: You’re the guide—you shine brightest when you’re invited to share your wisdom. Instead of pushing your message out to the world, focus on creating content that invites others to learn from you. Your energy is most powerful when others seek you out for your unique insights.
Content Ideas:
Thought-provoking questions that prompt responses from your audience
Insights or advice based on what you’ve been invited to share
Engage in 1x1 conversations (DMs, private messages, client outreach)
One Thrive participant said, “I didn’t realize creating deep 1x1 connections instead of promoting my message all over the internet was a valid way to build a business.” IT IS! And when you tune into what feels natural to you, you’ll shine and become so much more magnetic than if you’d tried to replicate a process that doesn’t feel like you.
5. Reflectors: Deep, Intuitive, and Reflective
Strategy: Wait a full moon cycle (28 days).
How you create content: Reflectors’ content resonates deeply because it’s authentic and based on your personal insights. Reflectors are mirrors—your energy is sensitive to what’s happening around you. Give yourself time to observe and reflect before creating. Your content should reflect your personal journey and any shifts you’ve recently experienced—but remember to make your client the hero of your story.
Content Ideas:
Reflective posts about what you’ve learned from observing patterns in your life
Content that mirrors your personal growth or shifts in your business
Blog posts or videos that take time to process and share your insights
“Go slow to go fast!” Ooh the way this resonated with another person in the Thrive cohort. If you’re a Reflector, cranking out a few posts a week is going to siphon your energy right off. Allow the time to let things crystallize, and trust the value of your insights are more important that flooding your people with phoned-in messaging.
There’s no single path to success, and there’s no need to force yourself into someone else’s mold! When you align your business to your true nature—and tap into your unique working style—you’ll not only find the right way to create content, but you’ll feel more empowered, confident, and connected to the work you’re doing.
Your business will thrive because it’s not just about what you’re creating—it’s about how you’re creating it. If you work in harmony with your energy, you’ll build a business that doesn’t drain you, but fuels you, amplifies your impact, and helps you show up more fully for the world around you.
