A new chapter: supporting soul-centered entrepreneurs
You know the John Green line from The Fault in Our Stars? “I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”
That’s how this next phase of my business came into my consciousness.
After years of internal whining about not knowing my niche – I want to help anyone who’s ready to transform their life and come into their own power! – it finally dawned on me that there is one type of conversation I gravitate towards over and over, one type of client I find particularly exciting to work with.
The Realization
One afternoon in May, I was prepping a new garden bed in the backyard to create a new play space for the girls, while talking on the phone with one of my soul sisters. She was filling me in on her reiki training, a workshop she'd just led, and what she was working on next:
"I started my business because I want to help people, not because I think running a business is fun!"
Wait, what?! Running a business is fun...isn't it?
Is this part of my special flavor of weird that I get a kick out of the back end of entrepreneurship?
Turns out, the answer is yes.
Turns out, all the mindset work, coaching training, business books, marketing courses, and years of practice have positioned me to offer a unique and comprehensive level of support for soul-centered entrepreneurs.
Turns out, I can help people find the joy in being a small business owner, beyond the core service you offer.
Turns out, that joy is a key piece in helping you keep your LLC running rather than exchanging it for a W-2 and fluorescent-lighting office.
The Declaration
A few weeks later, I was on the phone with my accountability buddy, Anna. I was sitting in my office, sipping on my blood orange Spindrift, debating whether or not to say the next thing out loud. I finally took a deep breath and blurted it out:
“I think, I mean, I know, umm, shit. Anna, I want to work with entrepreneurs. I’m going to work with entrepreneurs.” There. I said it.
After I hung up, I pulled a card from one of my decks:
Message received, Universe. I’m in.
The Doubts
There was a host of reasons I’d been reluctant to declare this. What if I change my mind? What if I get sick of these types of conversations? What if I lose out on otherwise phenomenal clients?
Maybe I will change my mind. But I doubt it, at least not any time soon.
Entrepreneurship is in my blood: my parents are entrepreneurs, I started my first business when I was seven (private detective, with hand-drawn business cards and all, thankyouverymuch), was this close to going to college for entrepreneurship, and had my first LLC in my mid-20s. I love this stuff.
What about getting sick of those conversations? Here’s the thing about my approach: There’s no way we’re talking “just” business. Yes, I have an incredible framework I’m excited to share (stay tuned!), but life and work are so closely knitted together, especially for entrepreneurs. We’ll get to talk business, but we’ll also get to dig into what’s happening in the rest of your life. It’s never going to get old.
What about shutting myself off to phenomenal clients? It’s true I’m shifting what I create to support people on their entrepreneurial journey. I understand if you decide to opt out, but I do think there will be plenty that applies to you if you stick around.
Special Offer
As part of this transition, I’m opening up five spots for 1x1 coaching clients who aren’t entrepreneurs.
If you’ve been wanting to work with me, this is your time! I only have a few spots open, and this offer ends on August 9, so go ahead and book your vision casting call now.
I have a little something special to send you when you book a package as a thank you for being with me on this journey.
I’m incredibly excited about this new chapter and all the possibilities it holds. If you’re an entrepreneur (or know one) who’s ready to dive deep, transform, and thrive, I’d love to hear from you. Here’s to making the most of our businesses and our lives, in alignment with our true selves.
