What Medicine Do You Need?
I’ve been thinking a lot about medicine lately.
Gratitude for modern medicine (My three-year-old is finally vaccinated! My thyroid numbers have stabilized!), “traditional medicine” (my growing homeopathy stash would make my Aunt Janna proud), and what I think of as "spirit medicine" -- that which your soul is calling for in this moment.
I've also begun reading the beautiful book You Are the Medicine, by Asha Frost, and was struck by this passage:
The last few weeks have been a rollercoaster around here, with high highs and low lows. Even as someone who generally loves change, transitions can be hard.
When I was journaling yesterday, I noticed I was telling myself the story: I have no room for error right now.
Talk about feeling hemmed in by pressure.
When I dug a little deeper, I realized that, knowing what I know about what’s on the horizon (which includes a lot of unknowns), I actually need to get comfortable with the opposite.
I don't need a meek illusion of safety -- that would lead to the opposite of what I need right now.
The medicine I'm being called to is BOLD action. Big “f*ck around and find out” energy. Risk taking.
Allowing space for big mistakes.
I'm excited by the possibilities, and the path ahead is already starting to unfurl with greater clarity. I can't wait to share more with you when the time is right.
How about you? What medicine do you need in this moment?
What would happen if you allowed space for big mistakes? What would shift and become possible?
Want support unlocking more of that possibility? I’d love to talk with you about it. Even if you’re not looking for coaching right now, I’d love to have a 30-minute chat and hear what’s going on with you.
