Have you told the bees? 🐝

On a hot day in late June, I stood in a cemetery with my daughters, my mother, and her friend—a beekeeper.

We were tending five hives nestled among the gravestones. Smoke curled through the air. My girls wore borrowed veils and helped prepare beetle traps with olive oil. We moved slowly, with curiosity.

My mom gave them a piece of fresh comb, still laden with honey, and I showed them how to take a bite and chew the liquid gold. I think that was as close to a transcendent moment as either of them has had so far.

As we walked among the hives, I remembered an old custom I’ve always loved, rooted in both folklore and reverence: when someone dies, you must tell the bees. When something important changes, you go to the hives and share the news. You and the bees care for each other; they deserve to know.

I kept thinking—what would it be like to tend to our businesses this way?

What if you treated your business as something sacred, something alive, in relationship?

What if, when things shifted in your world—when you lost someone, made a big decision, started to grow in a new direction—you paused long enough to tell your business what's going on?

To speak to the Spirit of your business and let it know what’s happening inside you? I chat with my business all the time (yes, out loud), and it's wild what a difference it's made.

Because here’s the thing no one tells you when you’re building a business: your business has a soul.

It evolves as you evolve.

And it’s listening.

When it starts to feel like something’s off…
When your work no longer fits like it used to…
When your fire dims or your clarity goes fuzzy…

It’s not always a strategy problem.
Sometimes, it’s a call for reconnection.

This is the work we do in Reiki for the Spirit of Your Business. It’s about clearing the energetic static, tuning into what wants to be heard, and reconnecting to the soul of your work—so you can move forward in a way that feels clean, clear, and true.

If you’re feeling the nudge to listen more deeply…
If you’ve been feeling off and you can’t quite name why…
If you’ve grown—but your business hasn’t caught up yet…

Come tell the bees.
Come sit in sacred space.
Come back into sync with the living thing that is your work.

I’d be honored to guide you.
