What do yellow roses 💛🌹 have to do with a business uplevel?

My work schedule this summer has been disjointed, to say the least.

As I write this, my kids have been out of school for five and a half weeks—and there have been a whopping 6 days when they’ve both been at camp. (Some planned vacations, some sick blips.)

At the same time, my business and I are in a moment of major uplevel and expansion.

Family time = yes.
Work growth = yes.
But the tension between the two? Very real.

Last week, I was trying to figure out how to hold it all when the next step became clear:
Go buy some yellow roses.

I know. Not your typical business strategy. But this isn’t a typical business. (Spoiler: yours isn't, either.)

The left corner of my desk is one of the most visible spots in the house. You see it every time someone walks up the stairs or glances up from the living room. That’s where the roses are now—right in the sightline—prompting a smile and a reminder.

Let me back up.

I was chatting with my business on the way home from camp drop-off (yes, really) and asked, “What would feel supportive right now? What’s the next move as we step into this next phase—one where I’m walking my talk around energy, leadership, and visibility?”

The answer:
This uplevel calls for more solar plexus support.

The solar plexus chakra is the seat of power, identity, confidence, and action. Its color? Yellow.

So when I found myself in Safeway restocking on Jello, pudding, and chicken noodle soup for a sick kiddo… I added the yellow roses to my cart. A visual commitment to this energetic upgrade.

Every time I see them, I remember:

✨ We’re doing this.
✨ I don’t have to force it.
✨ My business will show me the way.
