What is your business trying to teach you?
When I started my business, I was looking forward to being my own boss, experiencing financial freedom, and doing work that lights me up.
What I didn't expect—at all—was that it would be a powerful catalyst for my own healing. Over the years, entrepreneurship has pushed me to confront some of my deepest limiting beliefs, including ones I didn’t even know were there.
Have you ever heard of an AFGO? It stands for Another F-ing Growth Opportunity. And holy moly if running your own business doesn't serve those up in spades!
Though I absolutely would have denied it (like, to myself, let alone anyone else), I used to struggle with worthiness. I was afraid of offending people or stepping into my power. I avoided money. (Money avoided me as a result, by the way. This goes both ways.) And I stayed small, hiding my voice and my gifts—because (get this) I was afraid I might offend someone if I shined to brightly.
Yup. Me. The proud mama who is constantly telling her daughters not to dim their light, that shining brightly just means more light in the world, and that by owning their gifts, they can shine the way and inspire others.
It's one thing to know something intellectually. Even to talk about it. It can be a whole 'nother ball game to actually live it.
And entrepreneurship doesn't leave room for hiding.
Building this business has been an ongoing journey of owning who I really am. Through it, I’ve learned to speak up, embrace my worthiness (which has absolutely nothing to do with what I produce or earn, by the way), and welcome abundance into my life. I’ve completely transformed my relationship with money, from seeing it as something I was “bad” at managing to now viewing it as a powerful source of information and tool for good.
Because here’s the thing: If you’re avoiding something in your business, whether it’s putting yourself out there on social media, navigating your finances, or negotiating your worth, those blocks are holding you back in other areas of your life, too.
Entrepreneurship forces you to grow—because the truth is, you can’t truly scale your business without scaling yourself first.
But here’s the catch: You can’t grind your way to growth. Hustle culture might get you results, but it won’t lead to the kind of deep transformation you’re capable of. And it will burn you out in the process.
That’s why I encourage you to start by noticing what you’re avoiding. Do you hesitate to post your face on social media? Are you putting off organizing your finances? Or maybe you’re great at generating ideas, but struggle to actually take action? Pay attention to where you get stuck, and get curious about why.
This is where things start to shift—because when you identify those blocks, you’re opening the door to change.
But you don’t have to do this alone. This work absolutely benefits from having someone to help you see your blind spots. Do you have a business bestie who can help you call out these patterns? Or are you ready to work with a coach who can support you in smoothing the path to your growth?
You don’t have to go on this journey of healing and transformation alone. It’s easier, faster, and far more rewarding when you have someone by your side.
If you’re ready to start transforming your relationship with your business—and yourself—book a free, no-sales-pitch call with me today. It's time to create the fulfilling, aligned business you deserve.
