Make an Election Week “Tenderness Plan”
With the election tomorrow—and the very real likelihood that we won’t know the results for a few days—I’m creating a "Tenderness Plan" to give myself some extra space for big feelings and uncertainty. I thought I’d share some ideas with you, in case they’re helpful.
Election Week Self-Care Menu
First things first: if you haven’t voted already, please make a plan to vote tomorrow! Vote for bodily autonomy, vote for the planet, vote for democracy. Vote for Kamala Harris. And don’t forget to research local races—they matter!
And as we move through this week, here are some simple ways to show yourself a little extra tenderness:
First, please remember to vote tomorrow if you haven't already!
Schedule breaks: Step outside, breathe, and connect to the earth if you can.
Take an Epsom salt bath.
Drink lots of water.
Try 5-7-8 or box breathing: A few rounds can help calm the nervous system.
Go easy on caffeine.
Give yourself permission to unplug from the news. Trust that you’ll hear when there’s an update.

As entrepreneurs, we get to be the kind of compassionate bosses people dream of—even if we’re shops of one. This is a great week to show yourself that same care and kindness.
