Finding Steady Ground in Uncertain Times

We live in the D.C. ‘burbs, so politics are a very present part of our daily lives; even the Kindergartners would regularly chat about the election.

When I woke my daughters up on Wednesday morning and told them that Donald Trump had been elected, they started chanting "Kamala!" pulled out their Little Feminist Leaders book, and then…asked if they could throw tomatoes at Trump’s face.

No, sweet girls. We can’t do that.

How could I explain the world’s heaviness in terms that could make sense to their sweet, young minds? I wanted to honor that we’re frustrated and angry and scared, but we won’t trade our humanity.

Here’s where I landed: Right now, our job is to love, to show kindness, and to bring clarity to our thoughts and actions as best we can.

This has become my guiding framework as we all try to find our footing.

In these moments, I think of it as a loving-kindness meditation in action. Extending love inward and outward. If you’re casting about, wondering what to do, I urge you to go gently, go slowly. Be kind to yourself and those around you. And, if you see an opportunity to help, take it with a tender heart.

Today if you need quiet or stillness or to take a break, please do. If you need to rage and wail and scream, please do.

And, as so many are casting about for guidance – yes, about political action, but also about how we move forward and lead our lives in this moment – I wanted to share a few ideas.

Here are some offerings that might bring you comfort:

Set yourself up for sleep with Radiant Rest Tea and fan favorite Sweet Dreams Pillow Spray. Allow your grief to move through you with Tender Hearted Tea. Give your system a break from caffeine and sip Date Night Magic Tea instead. (It’s great for any time you want to feel alert and magnetic.)

  • Authentic AI – AI can be a game-changer for your business—but only if it reflects your unique brand voice. In this session, Colette Armah will explore the top AI tools that boost productivity, enhance customer service, and streamline operations. Think: creating video clips, automating your Instagram posts, and having your dream ghostwriter on retainer. You'll also learn how to train ChatGPT, your first AI employee, to communicate in a way that feels genuine and aligned with your business values. This interactive workshop will guide you through personalizing your AI assistant, ensuring it delivers a consistent, authentic experience for your clients while driving business growth.

  • Networking Naturally – Networking doesn't have to feel forced or awkward. In this session, Brandon Clark will show you how to leverage your curiosity to create genuine connections. You'll walk away with tools to build authentic relationships that support your business growth.

  • How to Become a Thought Leader – You don’t need permission to be a thought leader—you just need to claim it. In this session, Danielle Veira will help you identify topics you’re passionate about and show you how to start speaking on them today. You’ll also discover how to find authentic opportunities to share your ideas and what it truly means to step into the role of thought leader. Whether you’re new to this or looking to deepen your influence, this session will set you on a path to confidently share your wisdom with the world. Note: This session will be coming to us live from London, so if you're in Europe and want to tune in, this is at a particularly convenient time for you!

  • Pitch Perfect – Ready to get your business in front of the media? In this session, Kristin Golliher will walk you through the key steps to creating a successful PR campaign, from building your media list to crafting the perfect pitch. You’ll also learn how to prep your talking points and confidently present your story to the press. By the end, you’ll have the tools to get noticed by the right people and boost your visibility with ease.

This isn’t about hustling harder; it’s about finding ways to nurture yourself and your business, no matter what’s happening around us. Join us for the entire week or just stop in for a session or two—whatever feels right for you.
